Montreal’s self-portrait experience…

where you're the photographer, the subject, and the story.

This isn’t just a photoshoot.

It’s a space to see yourself—without filters, without someone telling you how to pose.
Just you, a mirror, a camera, and the time to explore how you want to be seen.

Whether you come to celebrate yourself, mark a new chapter, or simply slow down and look inward, Mirror Mirror offers a quiet, curated space for real self-reflection—through the lens.

What to expect ?

  • A private, softly lit studio with a mirror, remote, camera, and time that’s all yours.

  • Up to 200 lightly edited classic black-and-white portraits that feel honest, strong, and raw.

  • No pressure, no perfection—just presence.

The Studio

A space designed for the effortless creation of self-portraits. State-of-the-art lighting and classic black-and-white backdrops sculpt light and shadow, creating an editorial-quality look.

An oversized mirror allows you to see yourself in real time, refining each pose with confidence. With a remote shutter in hand, every frame is yours to compose.

How it works ?

  • Absolutely! Many of our guests are new to self-portrait photography.

Some people arrive with a vision, while others discover their direction in the moment.

We recommend you to create a playlist that makes you feel something. Music helps set the mood, whether it’s something upbeat that makes you want to move or something calming that helps you settle into the moment.

Beyond that, it’s entirely up to you. If you want to experiment, prepare a collection of reference images for inspiration. If you prefer a more spontaneous approach, simply show up as you are and let the moment unfold naturally.

There is no wrong way to do this!

  • Black and white photography removes distractions, drawing attention to expression, emotion, and form. By stripping away color, each portrait becomes a timeless study of light, shadow, and presence—one that feels personal, raw, and outside of fleeting trends.

  • Your session is completely private, but an administrator will be in a separate room throughout your session in case you need any technical adjustments or assistance.

  • The studio comfortably accommodates up to four people per session, making it perfect for solo portraits, couples, close friends, or small family sessions.

  • You will receive up to 200 high-resolution black-and-white images taken during your session via email within 48 hours.

  • Yes! Pets are welcome—we love capturing the connection between people and their furry companions. Just make sure your pet is comfortable in new environments and can remain calm in the studio setting.

Please ensure your pet’s paws are clean before the session, especially if you’ll be using the white backdrop, as it can easily pick up stains.

  • Solid neutral colors (black, white and grey) and minimalist outfits work best for black-and-white photography. They create bold contrast, define shapes beautifully, and give a timeless, editorial feel to your portraits.

Textures play a big role too—simple fabrics, natural textures, bold patterns all translate beautifully.

If you love movement, consider flowy outfits—long sleeves, sheer fabrics, or lightweight silky materials. When paired with our studio fan, they create an elegant, dynamic effect, adding energy and motion to your images.

  • Absolutely. This is your space, free from outside judgment or expectations. Whether you want to celebrate postpartum changes, document the beauty of breastfeeding, or capture yourself in lingerie—or nothing at all—this studio is a place for self-exploration and appreciation.

Your session is completely private, allowing you to embrace your body, confidence, and presence without self-consciousness. This is about you—exactly as you are.

  • A small makeup station is available in the studio for quick touch-ups before your session. However, any hair or makeup adjustments must be done within your booked time frame.

    For hair, you have options:

If you'd like to use our studio fan for a dynamic, ethereal effect, we recommend leaving your hair down or styling it in a way that allows for natural movement. Loose waves, curls, or long, airy layers work beautifully in this setting, adding a sense of energy and motion to your portraits.

If you prefer a clean, polished look, tying your hair back into a low or high bun creates stunning contrast in black-and-white photography. This style enhances facial structure, drawing attention to your expression and creating a bold, editorial feel.

Whichever style you choose, embrace what feels right for you.

  • Yes! If there’s something meaningful to you—a book, a flower, a personal object—bring it along. The studio is your creative space, and the smallest details can add depth and storytelling to your images.

  • Yes! The high-resolution images you receive are perfect for printing, whether you’d like to create framed portraits, fine art prints, or a personal photo book.
